The Gathering Spot LA to feature inspirational talk, book signing and movie sneak preview at January 19 event

Special event with author and former NY Commissioner of Housing Joseph Holland and filmmaker Allen Wolf

What: Author and Former NY Commissioner of Housing Joseph Holland and filmmaker Allen Wolf head to The Gathering Place LA for an evening featuring an inspirational talk about Black trailblazers, highlights from Holland’s Make Your Own History book, a dramatic reading from Ampy Koranteng, and a sneak preview of Allen Wolf’s award-winning inspirational 30-minute film Harlem Grace that shows the real-life impact Holland has had helping hundreds of homeless men. Hosted by Maurice Lee.

Who: Joseph Holland, Allen Wolf, Maurice Lee, and Ampy Koranteng

  • New York-based Joseph Holland has made a positive impact through his outreach programs, running businesses, writing books and plays, serving in politics, and building housing, all while leveraging his impressive educational background and experiences as an attorney.
  • Los Angeles-based Allen Wolf is an award-winning author and filmmaker who has written and directed two feature films and hosts the popular Navigating Hollywood podcast.
  • Maurice Lee is a Los Angeles-based writer, producer, actor, philanthropist, and CEO of M.O.E. Productions, where he produced two mentoring documentaries and his first comic series ‘Califia and the Timeless Sentries.”
  • Actor Ampy Koranteng is an actor who has portrayed everything from a Klingon in Star Trek, a magistrate in Queen Esther, to a slave in Emancipation, along with many TV appearances and commercial spots.
